As part of our ministry here in Hermosillo, we, along with several Institute students, are assisting national pastor, Isaac Luna,  in a church plant under the direction of Missionary Ron Cochran's church, Iglesia Bautista Emanuel.Below are the newsletters of Pastor Luna and some photos of our church family.

Below is a picture of the group who ministered on behalf of our church and IPE in Toluca Mexico Feb 20 through March 3, 2009. Praise God for His blessing in the endeavor. We are planning our next mission trip to Guatemala during the summer of 2010.

These are pictures of the first official service of the Esperanza Viva church (a church our church helped plant) in their newly rented building. Pastor Ron Cochran (far right), Pastor Isaac Luna (left) were invited by Pastor Manuel Acedo (center)  to be there for the ribbon cutting and inaguration of the new church in San Bosco. 

IPE students Ilber, Timmy, Gracia, Bridget, Blanca and Katherine will be serving at this local church during the rest of their time at IPE.

A full house on the first day, Praise the Lord!

This picture was taken at our house on the last official fellowship night between those who serve at our church, La Fe, and those who will be serving from now on at Esperanza Viva. We will miss them, but pray God's blessing on this new work!

We praise the Lord for the donation of 20 new folding chairs during January 2008 and 20 used folding chairs during January 2009. As you can see, even with these our seating space is limited. What a wonderful problem to have! We are also seeing about 4 people in wheelchairs attend our services regularly including the young man shown here named Saul.

We are thankful for the musical talents the Lord has provided to our church through many of the young people. Katie has been "instrumental" in getting our small church orchestra organized. We are praying that the Lord would provide our church with a good full-sized keyboard or a piano this year.

We took a mission team from our church to a small church plant pastored by  an IPE graduate in la Cruz de Elota, Sinaloa, the last week in February. Thank you for your prayers. You can read a report of that trip, written by Pastor Luna, on the "newsletters" page (link at left).

We praise the Lord that He has allowed our church, to outgrow our rented two room building, and provided a larger rented facility for us to move into at the end of August 2007. The new location is also in a heavier traffic area, so we have larger outreach possibilities there.
